IASSC's Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification evaluates the readiness of a lean six sigma professional to lead complex improvement projects using the lean six sigma methodology. Such an individual is expected to be able to coach, mentor, and lead lean six sigma project teams, and possess advanced expertise in lean six sigma methodology.
The certification exam is a 100-question, 3-hour exam with multiple-choice true/false questions. In order to get certified, candidates must score at least 70% in the exam. The questions are difficulty-graded in line with Bloom's taxonomy and cover the Design-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control phases. The body of knowledge on which the exam is based can be accessed on
There are no eligibility criteria to be able to attempt the certification exam. However, it is recommended that candidates go through a training course to familiarize themselves with the certification exam curriculum, and successfully clear their Green Belt level certification prior to taking up the Black Belt certification exam.
